Presenting the Milky Way Panorama for the press. The picture was published in Kvällsposten (local news paper) on March 6th, 1955 under the headline "Jättearbete med stjärnpanorama slutfört vid lundaobservatoriet". Left of the Milky Way Panorama we see Tatjana and Martin Kesküla, who painted the panorama and on the right we have Knut Lundmark who commissioned it.

The planetarium was placed in the old observatory building in 1978. A soft dome (not visible) was lowered over the visitors at the beginning of every show.
